See the Story is a free educational publication that provides visitors to their exhibition and website with information on photography and its history, in their visual world, and the role of World Press Photo in the visual world. They detail how we get to see visual stories, how these are made, and how they raise questions about important issues.
Photographs and digital stories can be interpreted in many ways, and every picture and story on display can lead to different understandings. Through individual stories from their exhibition, they explore important questions for visual storytelling, such as:
- Why is press freedom important?
- How do we get to see visual stories?
- Do we need to see graphic imagery to understand what is happening in the world?
- Why do we need stories of resilience, hope, and positive change?

The annual, year 71, World Press Photo 2026 exhibition will be on display in the Allen Lambert Galleria at Brookfield Place – 181 Bay St. (Union Station Subway)
September 21 to October 15
The exhibit is open to the public and each year we have many high school teachers attend with their students.
The exhibition is free, but we ask teachers to book their visit time and numbers with us, so if a teacher is interested, they can contact Lesley Sparks directly for full exhibit details and booking form.
