Ontario Teachers – this opportunity is too good to miss! The Teachers Institute on Canadian Parliamentary Democracy is an immersive learning opportunity for educators from across Canada.

During your week in Ottawa, you will meet senators, MPs and other key players in Canada’s system of government. You will also learn from experts, explore new approaches to civic education and gain resources to engage your students in citizenship and democracy.

How to Apply:

Applications are due by 3 May 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

Please have the following ready before you begin your application:

✔ Your basic personal information and contact details for your principal, superintendent and/or direct supervisor;

✔ A one-page statement of intent (approximately 600 words), saved as a PDF file. Your statement should outline your personal and professional goals, as they relate to the Teachers Institute on Canadian Parliamentary Democracy, and describe how participating in the Teachers Institute would benefit your learning community;

✔ Your résumé (two pages maximum), saved as a PDF file;

✔ Two letters of recommendation that are specific to your application to the Teachers Institute on Canadian Parliamentary Democracy (two pages maximum per letter), both saved as PDF files; and

✔ Responses to six selection questions, each with a 5,000 character limit. We recommend consulting the Application Guidelines (which includes the questions), preparing your responses in a word processor and then transferring them to the online form.
