Youth Voices: Canada’s Priorities gives students across Canada the chance to explore how governments set priorities and make decisions. Through classroom-ready lessons, engaging videos, and hands-on activities, students examine real government announcements, discuss competing priorities, and reflect on what they believe should matter most for Canada today.

Their perspectives are collected through a national consultation survey and shared with Members of Parliament and federal decision-makers, creating a direct connection between youth voices and the decisions that shape Canada’s future.

Designed for Grades 6–12, the program includes:

• Classroom-ready lessons exploring how governments set priorities, make trade-offs and turn ideas into action

• Videos featuring journalist Althia Raj to help introduce key concepts and guide classroom discussion

• Video messages from federal political leaders, including Mark Carney, Pierre Poilievre, Don Davies, Elizabeth May and Gabriel Ste-Marie, sharing their perspectives on the issues facing Canada

Interactive activities that help students develop their civic deliberation and decision-making skills

• A national consultation survey where students share their priorities for Canada, with results shared with Members of Parliament and federal officials

The program is now open and will remain available for classrooms across Canada until the end of April.

Upon registering you will receive access to the online resources. Printed packages will be shipped the week of March 23 (or later if you are on break).

We hope your students will join this important national conversation.
