A Fire That Changed A Region - The Haileybury Fire of 1922

In late September of 1922, a dry summer, some gale force winds, and some poor choices from government, led to a fire that ravaged hundreds of square miles, and destroyed the northern community of Haileybury. This fire led to tragedy, stories of courage, and cooperation from neighbouring communities, and unlikely sources of help from organizations such as the Toronto Transit Commission. What followed, would affect the region for years to come.
